After the successful first and second calls of this year, the BNC is pleased to announce that the third call for beamtime application is open from now on

until 15th November 2026. Successful proposals will be scheduled for beamtime in the first half of 2027.

BNC offers access to 12 neutron instruments providing a wide range of techniques for basic and applied research in physics, chemistry, biology, materials science, medical sciences, cultural heritage research, as well as research and development and industrial applications.

Apply with the support of NEPHEWS!

NEPHEWS project supports users by providing free access to the BNC facilities and reimbursing the travel and accommodation costs of up to two researchers from eligible user groups.

NEPHEWS support period has been extended until mid-2027, providing further opportunities for researchers to carry out experiments at BNC.

With little or no previous experience with neutron facilities, the NEPHEWS Twinning programme offers another excellent opportunity. The programme connects new and less experienced users with expert research groups and provides hands-on experience with neutron instruments at large-scale research infrastructures, while also supporting travel and accommodation.

Whether you are planning fundamental research, an applied research project or an industrial measurement, BNC offers a broad range of experimental possibilities.

DO NOT HESITATE TO APPLY FOR BEAMTIME AT BNC!

Find more information about the application procedure, available instruments and NEPHEWS support on the BNC Beamtime Application page.

The operation schedule of the Budapest Research Reactor for 2027 will be published soon – stay tuned!
